Spatial dataset of population density in Northwest China between 2 and 1949 CE

This dataset presents the spatial distribution of population density in Northwest China (including present-day Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Xinjiang) from 2 CE to 1949 CE. It contains 16 temporal layers corresponding to the years: 2, 140, 640, 752, 1050, 1102, 1207, 1380, 1500, 1644, 1766, 1820, 1862, 1909, 1930, and 1949. The data are provided in GeoTIFF format with a spatial resolution of 0.5 arc-min, using the geographic coordinate system GCS_WGS_1984. The size of each raster file is approximately 36.1 MB.
