While hypervirulent strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae belonging to capsular types K1 and K2 have been widely described, those belonging to capsular types K20 and K57 have been less extensively studied. In this project we have sequenced representatives of these capsular types carrying virulence plasmids in order to understand their characteristics and extent of diversity better.
