The YCB-LUMA dataset was co-developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research and Technische Universität Darmstadt, aiming to expand the YCB-V dataset and provide a more diverse set of objects for object localization tasks in computer vision. This dataset contains 81 objects, covering transparent objects, multiple color variants, non-rigid objects, and more, and was recorded using luma keying technology to improve data quality and diversity. During the creation process, each object was captured from multiple viewpoints to ensure comprehensive data coverage. It is mainly used for performance evaluation of 2D object detection and segmentation algorithms, and aims to address object localization problems in fields such as autonomous driving, maintenance, quality assurance, robotics, and augmented reality.
