Experimental and simulated gamma ray data set generated by proton beam hitting solid water

This research dataset was constructed by combining proton beam irradiation experiments with Monte Carlo simulations, mainly including two types of data: gamma ray energy spectrum measurements and particle transport simulations. The experimental part used proton beams of different energies to irradiate solid water, and a lanthanum bromide detector was used to collect gamma ray energy spectrum data at 45, 90, and 135 degrees. All experimental data were subjected to secondary calibration processing to ensure the accuracy of energy response. The FLUKA software was used to establish a geometric model of the detector for simulation calculation, and the detection efficiency curve of the all energy peak of gamma rays in the energy range of 0.1-8 MeV was obtained (Figure 4). Meanwhile, Geant4 was used to simulate the interaction process between protons and solid water, and spatial distribution data of 511 keV, 718 keV, 2.22 MeV, and 4.4 MeV gamma rays were obtained. The depth intensity distribution curve and angle depth relationship graph were drawn using MATLAB software (Figure 5-6). The dataset contains 6 sets of core data files: Figure 2 shows the gamma spectra of proton beams with different energies in the 90 degree direction; Figure 3 shows the multi angle energy spectrum matrix of a 221.1 MeV proton beam; Figure 4 records FLUKA simulation efficiency data; Figure 5-6 contains the raw data simulated by Geant4 and the results processed by MATLAB; Figure 7 integrates experimental measurement and simulation comparison data (including original energy spectrum, Gaussian fitting parameters, and corrected yield data table), and the energy spectrum data is processed by background subtraction.
