2023 Annular and 2024 Total North American Solar Eclipse Obscuration Calculations

These are predictions of eclipse obscuration and eclipse track made using the AstroPy library for the 14 October 2023 Annular and 8 April 2024 Total Solar Eclipses over North America. Calculations are made for altitudes from the ground up to 450 km altitude in 50 km steps, with a 0.2 x 0.2 degrees latitude/longitude resolution, and a 5 minute cadence. Plots are included for all time steps, as well as a summary plot each entire eclipse. These calculations were made to support the studies of solar eclipse impacts on the ionosphere conducted by the Ham Radio Science Citizen Investigation (HamSCI).
