资源简介:
On behalf of the Fort A.P. Hill Environmental and Natural Resources Division, Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., conducted an archaeological survey and evaluation within the Garrett Farm Site (44CE0085) in Caroline County, Virginia. The Garrett Farm Site is the location of John Wilkes Booth’s apprehension and death. The focus of this investigation was the predicted location of Richard Garrett’s tobacco barn, which was burned during the capture and fatal shooting of John Wilkes Booth on April 26, 1865. The project area consists of a diamond-shaped parcel enclosing an area approximately 8.34 ha (20.62 acres) and is located entirely within the boundaries of Fort A.P. Hill.
