Understanding Neonatal sepsis in sub saharan africa - an online survey

Neonatal sepsis poses a significant global health threat, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, where it accounts for a substantial portion of neonatal morbimortality. This multicentre survey aimed to elucidate current practices, challenges, and definitions in managing neonatal sepsis among clinicians in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The survey targeted physicians and medical practitioners directly involved in neonatal care who participated to a self-administered web questionnaire. The main objective was to understand sepsis and infection definitions and management from the clinician’s point of view and identify challenges and opportunities in sepsis management. Participants were queried on demographics, definitions and diagnostic criteria, treatment approaches, and infection prevention and control measures.
