This dataset contains the raw data used in the Physics of Plasma article of the same name. It is used as supporting evidence for the successful implementation of an ellipsoidal focusing plasma mirror, producing a factor 2.5 reduction in focal spot size and a factor 3.6 enhancement in peak intensity, resulting in intensities approaching 10^22 W/cm2. The experimental data herein was taken using the VULCAN petawatt laser facility at the CLF, UK. Modelling of the optical system was conducted using the ray tracing software Zemax.
