The goal of the study is to produce docosadienoic acid in an oilseed crop by transgenic approach. This research is to clone gene(s) from Eranthis hyemalis encoding enzyme(s) involved in the biosynthesis of docosadienoic acid and transfer gene(s) into oilseed crop to produce the fatty acid for nutraceutical and functional/feed markets.
