Maryland Ground-Water Observation Well Network, 2001

The dataset MDNET was created to provide locations of Maryland ground-water observation wells for use within a Geographic Information System. MDNET is a point coverage that represents the locations and names of a network of observation wells for the State of Maryland. Additional information on water conditions at these sites can be found in the Ground-Water Site Inventory System (GWSI) database, which is maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Site information can be accessed on the internet at URL: "http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/". Any use of trade, product, or firm names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. Although this Federal Geographic Data Committee-compliant metadata file is intended to document the data set in nonproprietary form, as well as in ARC/INFO format, this metadata file may include some ARC/INFO-specific terminology.
