GEER Hurricane Harvey reconnaissance - initial data collection

Three teams from the Geotechnical Extreme Events Reconnaissance (GEER) Association, supported by the National Science Foundation, were deployed to investigate the impacts of wind, flooding, storm surge and wave forcing in Texas. The teams worked collaboratively with federal, state and local organizations in Texas. This data collection presents the major field observations of the GEER team made during the field reconnaissance from September 2 to 5, 2017 along a wide coastal zone reaching from Corpus Christi to Galveston, including investigations along the Colorado River near Bay City and along the Brazos River near Rosenberg. This data collection currently contains (1) images and videos taken during the reconnaissance mission, (2) a list, description and images of soil samples collected, (3) free fall penetrometer raw data from San Luis pass, and the (4) the preliminary GEER report associated to these observations. Detailed data analysis is still ongoing. Additional data will be added with the continuing data processing.
