Replication Data for: Database of Cultural Capital Characteristics of the Selected Case Study Counties Designated the Most Renewable in Each of the Eight Department of Commerce Economic Regions

Cultural capital according to Flora and Flora who developed the community capital framework I am employing in this research “determines what constitutes knowledge, how knowledge is to be achieved, and how knowledge is validated through the community power structure.” It includes the values, language, traditions, and worldviews of community members and reflects the way people know and interpret the world around them based on their cultural identities. Given the diversity of community elements which constitute and create a sense of “culture” and identity, I have utilized public data to offer a lens on how culture is influenced in these case study geographies, namely by assessing the status of essential community resources like libraries; the religious proclivities of the populations; outlining community ethnic heritage and language use; qualifying and quantifying annual festivals and events; assessing the types of museums hosted in the communities; symbolism in the form of seals, mottos or flags; and education (attainment and relevant programs).
