Saliva Gas Analysis

Saliva, a readily accessible biofluid, contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that reflect metabolic activity and can be indicative of underlying health conditions. Saliva contains a variety of biomarkers, including DNA, RNA, proteins, enzymes, hormones, and metabolites, making it a valuable and non-invasive sample for medical diagnostics. This paper describes creation of a comprehensive dataset of saliva gas samples from individuals with various diseases (e.g., Gastrointestinal Disorders, kidney functioning, oral health) and healthy controls. Utilizing advanced analytical techniques such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), the dataset is intended capture the unique VOC profiles and gases associated with diseases related to gastro intestine, liver diabetic, oral health etc. The dataset includes the test results of conductivity, gases released by saliva sample namely, oxygen, methane, ammonia. This resource will facilitate the development and validation of non-invasive, rapid, and cost-effective saliva-based breath tests for early disease detection and personalized medicine.
