Cherry in vitro microbiome

The aim of the study was to investigate in vitro shoot culture and cryopreservation-induced changes in the endophytic bacterial diversity of two sweet cherry cultivars Sunburst and Mindauge. The endophytic bacterial community composition was assessed using 16S rRNA V4 domain sequence-based metataxonomic analysis using samples of field-grown tree leaves, dormant buds, and in vitro shoot culture before and after cryopreservation treatment.
