tobacco products.

important child-raising authorities during childhood; current
whereabouts and marital status of parents; classification of the
relationship to father and mother; characterization of child-raising
style of father as well as mother; information on year of birth, sex as
well as if appropriate year of death of natural parents, siblings,
step-siblings and one´s own children; social origins; financial
situation of the family during personal childhood; course of education
and level of eductional aspirations; detailed information on course of
school and occupational training as well as about employment; times of
unemployment and receipt of welfare; most important stress at work;
exhaustion after getting off; housing situation; living with parents or
alone; age at leaving parental home; running away from parental home;
clique membership; leisure time alone or with others; reference persons
and conversation partners with problems; most important leisure
activities; extent of use of gambling machines; gambling addiction as

alcohol; occasion for drinking; sources of supply; age at first
consumption and first intoxication; attitude to alcohol (scale); use of
alcohol by closest friends, acquaintances of father, of mother as well
as of partner.
Health: self-assessment of current condition of health
and paying attention to one´s health; most important illnesses and
complaints; measures to protect against AIDS; attitude to an AIDS test;
last visit to the doctor; frequency of use of selected medications,
tranquilizers as well as vitamin preparations; information on
medications taken last week.
Use of intoxicants: detailed information
on intoxicants used; age at first use and frequency of use of
intoxicants; use of sniffing materials; frequency of injected
intoxicants; use of several drugs at the same time; type and frequency
of drugs consumed in the last few weeks; increasing use of drugs for
the same effect; use of drugs to eliminate fear and conditions of
restlessness or physical pain; use of drugs more important than friends
or hobbies; missing work or school due to procuring drugs; perceived
stress from use of drugs; self-classification of dependence on drugs;
reasons for quitting use of drugs or for use of drugs; reference
persons at first and later use of intoxicants; partner in use of drugs;
reference person with problems due to the use of drugs; use of soft as
well as also hard drugs in circle of friends and acquaintances; extent
of drug addicts in social surroundings; classification of availability
of hashish, stimulants, heroin, methadon, opiates and cocaine for the

Feuerlein); local residency; ethnic Germans from Eastern Europe or
emigrant from East Germany; satisfaction in selected areas of life. The
following questions were also posed to persons who had not yet tried
any intoxicants: probability in the future of trying hashish, cocaine
or opiates.
