The immunological role of lactate in antitumor immunity is not well understood. In this study, we report lactate treatment significantly augments antitumor efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade or T cell vaccine therapy in multiple tumor models. Single cell transcriptomics and flow cytometry analysis revealed an increased subpopulation of stem-like TCF-1-expressing CD8<sup>+</sup> T cells upon lactate treatment.
