Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) go through pehnotypic transition during atherosclerosis progression. We used single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze the diversity of SMCs in aorta tissuee. Overall design: Aortic SMCs of ApoE-/-, Myh11-Cre, Rosa-TdTomato mice were isolated by Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) according to the presence or absence of TdTomato signal and analyzed using scRNAseq.
