The merging cluster RXCJ0548-2154 with a Radio Relic

The cluster RXCJ05482154 (A3365) is a merging system with a pronouncedperipheralradio relic. Similar to the prototype system A3667 the relic is almostaligned with the merger axis and the cluster shows a simple headon mergergeometry. This clear morphology and the fact that the cluster has a low redshiftof z0.0928 makes it a very attractive object for the study of the mergingprocess in connection with cosmic ray acceleration. To detect a shock near therelic position, to get a postshock temperature, and to unravel the mergerdynamics we propose a deeper XMMNewton observation of 120 ks. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
