Cameroonian Gonococci. Whole Genome sequence data belonging to Neisseria gonorrhoeae from Cameroon

Neisseria gonorrhoeae causes the bacterial sexually transmitted infection gonorrhoea. The incidence of gonorrhoea is increasing globally and more notably in low and middle income countries such as Cameroon. This is accompanied with decreasing antimicrobial susceptibilities leading to the potential for untreatable gonorrhoea in the near future. Very little whole genome sequence data originate from LMICs and this study provides WGS belonging to gonococci from Cameroon.
