资源简介:
The Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) aims to mitigate the financial hardship of insured farmers in the event of anticipated crop loss resulting from adverse weather conditions, such as rainfall, temperature, wind, and humidity. WBCIS uses weather parameters as a "proxy" for crop yields to compensate farmers for deemed crop losses. Payout structures are developed based on the extent of losses deemed to have been suffered using weather triggers. The claims process commences once weather data is received from the Reference Weather Station (RWS) or Backup Weather Station (BWS), as the case may be. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) dashboard provides useful information about the scheme, such as the number of eligible districts, total applications, area and sum insured, and premium collected.
