MIG-seq of Tomopteridae spp.. Tomopteridae

Zooplankton play an essential role in marine ecosystem and respond sensitively to oceanic environmental changes. However, understanding fragile zooplankton such as gelatinous zooplankton are delayed. A pelagic polychaete family Tomopteridae are known as an unexplored fragile zooplankton group even for species diversity and biogeography, although they distributed worldwide and dominant among pelagic polychaetes. Here, single nucleotide polymorphism data of Tomopteridae spp. collected around the world ocean was analyzed using multiplexed inter-simple sequence repeat genotyping by sequencing (MIG-seq) are registered. Using same specimens barcoded with mitochondrial DNA, we analyzed these genome-wide SNP data to check a concordance with mitochondrial DNA lineages and reveal their genetic population structure.
