Long-term oceanic observatories (moorings) in Hudson Bay during ArcticNet 2005-2012

To monitor changes in physical, biological and geochemical properties of the Canadian Arctic and Subarctic waters, ocean observatories (moorings) were deployed in Hudson Bay part of the ArcticNet field program. These moorings are the oceanic equivalent of atmospheric meteorological stations. All the three ArcticNet Hudson Bay moorings were set up to study the strength of the anticyclonic circulation along the Hudson Bay coast. The objective was also to investigate any West-East gradient in productivity close to the main rivers.
