Both H3K9me3 and H3K9me2 show enrichment in a peripheral rim in human TIG fibroblasts. Immunofluorescence is shown of H3K9me3 (red), H3K9me2 (green), and DNA DAPI (blue) staining distributions. H3K9me2 and K3K9me3 staining patterns at the nuclear periphery do not exactly co-localize but rather in some regions appear to be in adjacent rather than overlapping domains.
