The Record of Cases dealt with under the “First Offenders’” provisions of the Crimes Act, 1900 (Act No.40, 1900) provides information such as: the date of the case, the name of the offender, the offence, the sentence, the amount and term of recognizance, and the Police Station at which the offender is to report.This volume also holds, within the “record of cases” section, a list of local Justices of the Peace. This list dates from 1921 to about 1937. It gives the name of the J.P. and their address. In some cases, if they have been crossed out, the list states whether they were removed or deceased.This volume also contains a register of applications for auctioneers’, hawkers’ and other licenses, memorandums of cases committed for trial, a list of furniture in the court house, and a list of the law books at the court house.
