The decision to refresh design of a sustainment dominated systems such as military, nuclear, transportation system is not purely a cost minimization single objective problem, instead, multiple objectives such as maximizing efficiency and security must also be considered. Multiple objectives create a pareto optimal solution set which constitutes non-dominated solutions for decision makers to select one based on his/her priorities. The research hypothesis is that the quality of pareto optimal solutions sets deteriorates over time and the point where the quality reaches a minimum point that reflects the risk appetite of an organization or decision-maker, is the point to refresh the design of a sustainment dominated system. We have demonstrated the validity of this hypothesis in a case study. This data set belongs to a case study.
针对以维持为主的系统,如军事、核能、交通系统等的设计更新决策,并非单纯的成本最小化单一目标问题。相反,还需考虑多个目标,例如最大化效率和安全性。多个目标的考量将形成帕累托最优解集,该解集构成了决策者基于其优先级进行选择的非劣解集合。研究假设指出,帕累托最优解集的质量随时间推移而恶化,当其质量降至最低点,反映出一个组织或决策者的风险承受能力时,即为更新维持为主系统的设计之关键时机。我们已在案例研究中验证了这一假设的有效性。本数据集属于案例研究的一部分。
