FOIA Requests: U.S. Army and Use of Psychopharmaceuticals in Iraq and Afghanistan Wars

This data set draws from ethnographic fieldwork examining the use of psychopharmaceuticals by the US Army in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fieldwork included semi-structured interviews, ethnographic observation at military healthcare conferences and clinical trainings, and archival research. This record focuses on the archival research collecting materials on the U.S. Army and use of psychopharmaceuticals and other medications, obtained via FOIA requests. We requested documents from the 2010 and 2011 meetings of the Defense Health Board’s Psychotropic Medication Work Group and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Work Group. The record includes FOIA request, documents obtained, and analysis.
