This dataset and accompanying analysis investigate the role of audio in online education, focusing on its effectiveness in improving Teacher-Student interaction. A questionnaire survey was conducted among undergraduate and junior college students aged 19–25 from a university in Jiangsu Province, China. The survey, conducted between January 8 and January 12, 2024, collected 395 valid responses. Participants were asked about their demographics, usage patterns of online audio teaching, and perceptions of audio's convenience, flexibility, and quality.The study employs a Likert scale with five dimensions: frequency and habit of audio instruction, understanding and participation, attractiveness, convenience and flexibility, and quality and effectiveness. Advanced statistical methods, including descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and binary logistic regression, were used to validate findings.Key insights include:Female, older, and more educated respondents show higher agreement that audio enhances interaction.Positive correlations exist between understanding and other dimensions, while frequency negatively impacts interaction enhancement.Convenience and flexibility emerge as the most influential factors in enhancing interaction.This research contributes to understanding the significance of audio as a medium in online education, offering data-backed evidence for educators and platform developers to optimize interactive learning experiences.Key Data:Sample Size: 395 respondentsAge Group: 19–25 yearsStudy Duration: January 8–12, 2024Key Variables: Gender, age, education level, and frequency of audio usage in online education.This dataset is provided with confidentiality measures, ensuring the anonymity of all participants.
