The bibliometric dataset, focused on financial exploitation of older adults, is compiled from the Scopus database and includes 391 English-language documents—classified as articles and review papers—published between 1985 and 2024. This dataset offers a systematic and quantitative overview of scientific publications on the financial exploitation of older adults, helping to identify current research trends, highlight existing gaps in the literature, and inform future research directions. The dataset is located in the folder titled "ARTICLEOUTPUTS". The folder contains one file named “SCOPUSDATA” . The file consists of a single sheet and includes 20 variables related to 391 documents used in the analysis, such as authors' names, publication titles and years, and journal titles. The variables that constitute the dataset enable the implementation of the two main phases of bibliometric analysis: performance analysis and science mapping.
