Processed DEM data and MATLAB code for Nu River cascade reservoir terrain correction and climate-resilience assessment

This Zenodo record contains processed datasets and MATLAB R2024b code supporting the manuscript “Future cascade reservoirs could enhance climate resilience in China's last large free-flowing transboundary river”, submitted to Earth's Future. The archive includes corrected GeoTIFF DEM files for the 13 planned Nu River cascade reservoirs, original uncorrected GeoTIFF DEM files, MATLAB R2024b code for LSTM-based runoff simulation, MATLAB R2024b code for DDPG-based cascade reservoir operation modelling, historical runoff simulation results, SSP245 runoff simulation results, and precipitation, snow and temperature input data for 18 basins, including 13 planned reservoir basins and 5 hydrological-station basins. The corrected DEM products were generated using the terrain-correction workflow described in the manuscript and were used to support reservoir elevation-area-volume analysis and storage-capacity assessment. The LSTM code and runoff output files support runoff simulation under historical conditions and the CMIP6 EC-Earth3 SSP245 scenario. The DDPG code supports cascade reservoir operation modelling. This record therefore provides processed non-proprietary DEM products, precipitation inputs, runoff simulation outputs, and MATLAB code used to support peer review and reproduce the main analytical workflow.
