The aim of the study is a comprehensive study of a previously unknown natural antibiotic from the class of lantipeptides encoded in the genome of Bacillus thuringiensis SV andalusiensis B23193. In this work, we plan to conduct a structural and functional analysis of the new antibiotic and the cluster of its biosynthesis; to determine the biological role of post-translational modifications and their effect on the spectrum of lanthipeptide antimicrobial action and stability. This investigation will allow further application of the obtained knowledge for bioengineng of new antibiotics - lantipeptides or artificial modification of already known lantipeptides.
