Avalanche Disaster Dataset for the G219 Wenquan to Horgos Transportation Corridor (2024-2025)

The section of National Highway G219 from Wenquan to Horgos is located in the Tianshan Mountains region of China. This area experiences heavy snowfall in winter and frequent avalanche disasters, resulting in an urgent need to conduct data investigation and analysis of avalanche disasters along the route. The avalanche data in this dataset are derived from UAV aerial surveys carried out during 2024–2025. Through UAV aerial surveys, the formation zones, movement states, movement extents, accumulation morphologies, and specific occurrence locations of avalanches were recorded. Combined with the data captured by video-based monitoring stations, the exact occurrence times of avalanches were obtained. Additionally, meteorological factors such as wind speed, wind direction, and temperature were acquired by utilizing the meteorological stations deployed within the region, and wind rose diagrams of the study area were plotted accordingly.
