Extended data for: Sample size determination across study designs in health professions education research: a methodology guide
收藏资源简介:
Extended data supporting the F1000Research method article "Sample sizedetermination across study designs in health professions education research:a methodology guide." File S1 provides the software settings and syntax required to reproduce everyworked example presented in Table 1 of the article. For each of nine examplesit gives the standing assumptions, the exact G*Power 3.1 test family, statistical test and input parameters, runnable R syntax using the pwrpackage, and the expected output. Examples cover: two independent means; two independent proportions; paired(pre-post) designs; cluster-randomized trials, including the simulation routevia the simr package where G*Power provides no direct support; surveyestimation of a proportion with finite population correction and non-responseinflation; precision-based planning for a mean and for a standardised meandifference; reliability estimation (Cronbach's alpha); factor analysis viasemPower; and attrition inflation. The file also contains a reconciliation table explaining where the closed-formvalues printed in Table 1 differ from the values returned by G*Power and thepwr package, and why, together with a prose template for reporting a samplesize justification in a methods section. No primary research data are associated with the article. This depositcontains methodological and instructional material only.
