Urban air and ground surface temperature measurements from bike-based sensing in Montréal, QC, Canada (2024)

This dataset contains daytime and nighttime air and ground surface temperature measurements collected using a bike-based mobile measurement setup in Montreal, QC, Canada. Each measurement is associated with GPS coordinates and the building view factor (BVF) (based on a raster produced using the procedure outlined in Lindberg and Grimmond (2010) and a DSM derived from 2023 LiDAR data provided by the Ville de Montreal), percent canopy cover (based on the Indice Canopée Métropolitain open-source raster dataset provided by the Communauté Métropolitain de Montréal), and percent pervious cover (based on the Surfaces minérales et végétales open-source raster dataset provided by the Ville de Montreal), at the measurement location. The dataset additionally includes fieldnotes and weather conditions (based on UQAM's rooftop weather station) associated with each of the data collection bike rides. Data was collected between 2024-06-13 and 2024-09-13, primarily in the boroughs of Ville-Marie and Le Plateau-Mont-Royal.
