资源简介:
This project investigates the impact of supplemental carbon sources (glucose, maltodextrin, and their mixture) on the structure and function of microbial communities within biofloc technology (BFT) systems used for rearing redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). Biofloc technology is a sustainable aquaculture approach that relies on microbial communities to maintain water quality by assimilating nitrogenous wastes. Understanding how carbon source selection influences these microbial consortia is crucial for optimizing system stability, animal health, and production efficiency. We employed high-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene (V3-V4 region) to characterize the bacterial and archaeal communities in water samples from triplicate BFT tanks for each carbon source treatment and a clear water control over a 70-day culture period. The study aims to identify key microbial taxa and functional guilds associated with superior water quality maintenance (e.g., nitrification), floc stability, and crayfish performance under different carbon regimes. Findings will contribute to developing more efficient and reliable BFT management strategies for sustainable crustacean aquaculture.
