This dataset (16S) is from the remote Chagos Archipelago in the Middle of the Indian Ocean. Sampled were collected from numerous Atolls throughout the island chain. The samples are from two species of Pocillipora corals (P. acuta and P. damicornis). The effects of climate change are not just limited to populated touristy coral reef regions, so our goal was to study the effects of climate-induced bleaching on these remote corals' microbiomes.
