Whole Exome Sequencing of patients with Type 2 Diabetes in Mizo population

Mizoram is a small state in Northeast India with independent ethnic identity from the mainland Indians. The occurrence of T2D has been reported to be increasing but there are no scientific records that are available to fully understand the cause or its genetic predisposition within the endogamous Mizo population. The aim of the study focuses on the identification of the gene variants which may contribute to T2D susceptibility in Mizo ethnic tribe of North east India through whole exome sequencing. The key questions addressed in this study is whether any new variant can be found in a high risk T2D in unexplored cases, which can be potentially used as early diagnostic or prognostic markers.
