This database was constructed to identify financial crises and their characteristics across 21 countries for the years 1880 to 1997. For a larger sample of 56 countries, data is available from 1973 to 1997. Data includes a broad selection of macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, inflation, money supply, interest rates, and international reserves. The Excel data file (.xls) contains all numeric data for the database.
