Dataset of material characterization of methylated materials from the carbon nitride family and a demonstration of arsenic remediation in water

Data used in the main figures of the publication 'Noncovalent Interactions Dictate Surface Chemical Functionalization of Carbon Nitrides with Demonstration from Methylation'. The dataset contains characterization and activity data for a series of carbon nitride materials and precursors, including materials that were subjected to methylation. The chemical functionalization by methylation served as a probe of the reactivity of the surface amino groups. Structural (FTIR, NMR) characterizations were obtained for the series of samples in order to determine if methylation was successful. Arsenic adsorption experiments were conducted to investigate the impact of the surface modifications. The data was generated to better understand the noncovalent interactions present in carbon nitride materials and how these impact post-synthetic surface functionalization.
