Greenlandic children in Denmark, 2008

The aim of this study is to gain new knowledge of Greenlandic children living in Denmark with their parents. The following subjects will be examined: The social, psychological and physical well-being of the Greenlandic children. How well the Greenlandic children do in school and day care. The support offered to vulnerable Greenlandic children by the municipality of residence. The conditions of Greenlandic children compared to other Danish children on the basis of The Danish Longitudinal Survey of Children by The Danish National Centre for Social Research. The conditions of Greenlandic children in Denmark compared to Greenlandic children in Greenland. This study aims at providing a scientific basis for the understanding of the living conditions of Greenlandic children in Denmark including issues of integration and discrimination. Furthermore the study seeks to determine if the Greenlandic children receive the relevant support when needed.
