Poliovirus recombination among patients with acute flaccid paralysis (AFP)

The aim of the study was to optimize nano-pore sequencing for the whole polio genome; detect polio and none polio recombination among AFP patients; determine recombination events that are common in AFP patients; and compare the recombination events in AFP patients and published circulating vaccine-derived polio viruses. The data obtained could aid in the development of safer vaccines.
