RUNX3 methylation is described as prognostic biomarker for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and specifically affects the CpG island associated promotor thus only one of the transcript variants (TV). Functional analyses of both TV in EOC cell lines identified dichotomous roles related to cisplatin sensitivity, migration and proliferation. Aim of the present study was the genome-wide gene expression analysis after RUNX3 TV1 and TV2 overexpression. Overexpression models of two EOC cell lines (A2780 and A13-2-12) and controls were used to analyze the transcriptom changes induced by both TV. Biological triplicates were analyzed by NGS (library preparation: Illumina TruSeq Stranded Total RNA kit; NGS: Illumina NextSeq system (high-output, paired-end, read length 151 nt)).
