The influenza virus strain A/chicken/North Kazakhstan/184/2020 (H5N8), was isolated in North Kazakhstan during an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in 2020.
The genome of the viral isolates and of the viruses in the clinical specimens was examined to determine nucleotide heterogeneity (measured number of variances or numbers of mixed bases).
