Warm Absorber Properties in Seyfert 1 Galaxies

We propose to observe the Seyfert 1 galaxy IC 4329A, the Seyfert 1.5 galaxy MCG+81111 and the Narrow Emission line Galaxy NGC 526A each for 140 ks with the RGS instruments on board of XMMNewton. These three sources are among the brightest Seyferts in the sky. As a result high quality spectra which can reveal a complex structure of absorption lines are expected. These absorption lines document the material surrounding the nucleus. They will reveal the physical properties near the nucleus as well as the geometry of the warm absorber.
