Microbiota-derived acetate enhances host antiviral response via NLRP3 Raw sequence reads. Gut-derived acetate induces IFN-I via NLRP3 and alleviates influenza A virus infection

[Objective] To investigate the synergy mechanism of NLRP3 inflammasome and gut microbiota against influenza virus infection. [Methods] Nlrp3-/- and WT mice were co-housed at a 1:1 ratio from weaning to adulthood to exchange their microbiota, and then infected with influenza A virus. The bacterial community structure of their gut microbiota were investigated using high-throughout sequencing targeting V3-V4 regions in 16S rRNA gene.
