"The Migrant Letter Digitised: Visualising Metadata" datasets

Datasets used to support analysis reported in "The Migrant Letter Digitised: Visualising Metadata". The XML files (mellon_centre_for_migration_studies.xml and minnesota.xml) form the basis for the first iteration of visualisations found at http://www.nialloleary.ie/development/correspondence/correspondence.php. The CSV files, 'letters.csv' and 'locations.csv', are extracted from the database backending 'Visual Correspondence' (http://www.correspondence.ie). These include the original data from the XML files and additional data from the 'Lough Family Letters' collection (housed at the University of Missouri) and the 'Smith/O'Gowan Family Letters' collection (a private collection donated by Michael Handford).
