Research Data for "The 'Me' in the 'We': Autonomy in Relatedness Technologies."

This dataset accompanies the manuscript “The ‘Me’ in the ‘We’: Autonomy in Relatedness Technologies.” It contains anonymized data from three studies examining autonomy and relatedness in romantic relationships. Studies 1 (N = 97) and 2 (N = 101) experimentally investigated the anticipated experiences of connection-oriented technologies with and without autonomy-supportive design. Study 3 (N = 144) examined autonomy- and relatedness-related experiences and interaction aspects across 616 ratings of everyday face-to-face and technology-mediated interactions. The dataset is accompanied by documentation describing the variables and measures. Additional study materials are provided as supplementary materials to the associated manuscript.
