During the tenure, the company has acquired and examined all open file geophysics and geochemistry data and incorporated historic sampling data into GIS modelling on this tenement.
A review of past exploration showed that 15-20 companies carried out exploration programs that overlapped with the current tenure. The primary target was for uranium within the Westmoreland Conglomerate. A lower priority target was to test the Proterozoic volcanic sequences for base metals.
As a result, there are numerous base metals, and to a lesser extent, gold stream sediment, rock chip and soil anomalies that remain unresolved. The anomalies appear to have been focussed on a dolomitic unit within the Peters Creek Volcanics for stratiform base metal mineralisation. The Cliffdale Volcanics, to the north, are also considered prospective for copper-lead-zinc.
Whilst the base metal anomalies are encouraging significant follow up would be expensive as ground access is limited and a helicopter would be required for many areas. For this reason it is recommended that the tenement be relinquished.
