VPRS 19757 Name Index Books to Adoptions

This series comprises the Royal Women’s Hospital (VA 1241) name index of adoptive parents and summary information regarding the adoption.  It provides access to adoptions by surname of the adoptive parents. Information recorded includes the date of adoption, adopting parents’ names, case number assigned by hospital, the birth mothers name [listed as the patient] and finalisation status of the case. Additionally, the number of adoptions arranged each year from 1941-1983 are recorded to aid statistical reporting.
