资源简介:
This data set contains digital still imagery of benthic features from Hawaii
Coral Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (CRAMP) collected at three sites
in Pelekane Bay, Hawaii on June 18, 2012. The purpose of this study was to
re-evaluate the historical benthic and fish communities in Pelekane Bay. The
re-survey was designed to assess changes that might have occurred since that
time. Pelekane Bay has been heavily impacted by sedimentation due to poor
land practices on the watershed. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
(ARRA) funded a major restoration project at that site designed to control
erosion and sediment impact on the bay.
Approximately 100 high resolution digital images were taken along each of the
three 50 m transect lines at depths < 1.5 m on 18 June, 2012 using an
Olympus 5050 zoom digital camera with an Olympus PT050 underwater housing.
An aluminum monopod frame positioned the camera vertically at 0.7 m above the
substrate to provide a standardized 0.35 m2 image area. A 6-cm bar on the
monopod base served as the reference scale in each image.
