资源简介:
This repository provides the materials used to collect survey data from broadcast meteorologists and emergency managers as part of the Minding the Gap project. Interview findings from the first component of the study were used to inform the survey design for both participant groups. The surveys asked respondents questions about their tropical cyclone (TC) information use and decision making, perspectives on different types of TC information, and other topics. Some questions were structured to ask about a TC threat in general, and others were structured to ask about three different temporal phases of a TC threat: Phase I: more than five days before a storm impacts your area; Phase II: from five days to 48 hours before a storm impacts your area; and Phase III: 48 hours before a storm impacts your area through impacts. The sampling frame for the surveys consisted of broadcast meteorologists and emergency managers who operate in TC-affected regions of the Continental U.S. in the North Atlantic TC basin. In total, 87 broadcast meteorologists and 265 emergency managers participated in the surveys. Survey data will eventually be added as part of this mission.
